I've been playing farmville on facebook for a few months now and I enjoy when they come out with new things for the holidays... For halloween they had pumpkins, tombstones, bats, spider webs, and haunted houses... so far for Thanksgiving, they have a thanksgiving table, turkeys, maple trees and piles of leaves you can get. It's really fun to build your farm, grow plants or flowers and watch them grow. As cheesy as it seems, I enjoy playing this little game to relieve stress :)
there are lots of fun games on facebook now... this one is a new game by the same people that made farmville. you grow little fishies by feeding them... if you don't feed them or give them love, they will die! once they get to the adult stage, you can sell them for money and xp points... pretty fun and addicting!! your friends can be your neighbors and you can send tank decorations to each other.

Except her finger just kept bleeding and bleeding and bleeding... you'd be amazed how much one tiny finger can bleed. Several tissues, burp cloths, much gauze and three band-aids later, the second floor looked like the scene from a small disaster and I started to lose my calm, can-do front.
Then I imagined the headlines: "Baby bleeds out--death by hangnail."
We decided to go to the doctor just to be safe (thank goodness for weekend hours). They were very nice about our new parent paranoia, even though by the time we got there, Ellie's finger had stopped bleeding and she was obviously fine (if not grumpy with us for making such a fuss). We were sent home with instructions to keep it clean and relax. Ahahaha, I think that last part was a joke.
So the morning was not quite what we'd planned, but thankfully it got better. We chose to brave the rest of the day and make the trek to Ellsworth to the Gifted Hand Show to check out some handmade goodies from fellow Maine artists. I purchased a cute hat for Ellie from Worthy Goods and a surprise Christmas present from Atlantic Art Glass. I ogled the kids' peasant dresses from Anabelfuzz and the intricate glass beads from Fern House Studio. I'm definitely a fan of online shopping, but there's nothing like seeing an artists' work up close and meeting the people behind the Web addresses. Maine is home to some very talented people!
After returning from the show, El and I hung out with our friend Danielle while Tim caught up on homework. Then we all crashed in the living room to eat pizza and watch Supernanny and celebrate our pinky fingers being (mostly) intact.
If tomorrow is as eventful as today was, I'm going to need a second weekend to recover.

It is really time to ditch the canned food! Visit the healthy librarian to find out why.
My friend Mickey at Nicholas Landon Jewelery in Texas is having a Thanks-Give- Away
Her work is really lovely!
Another friend, Mark Brennen shared this link to a really interesting 1941 film produced by the National Film Board of Canada about the famous painter A.Y. Jackson following him on his painting journeys into the bush.
Still trying to raise $1000 for a digital mammogram machine and getting ready for those 6 hours of fitness classes on January 30th for Bust a Move! If you could help me please I'd be very grateful. It says Canadian $ but will convert US to Cdn.
Delicious Butternut Squash and Pear soup. I use an immersion blender and you don't have to add the cream at all or you can use evaporated skim milk for creamy no fat flavour.
Also, don't forget to enter my bloggy 1st Anniversary draw:)
Have a fun weekend:)
At the start of the day I thought I knew what today's "Note From The Universe" meant and I laughed out loud at its perfect timing and choice of words.

However, at the end of this day, I am less certain what it means than when the day started.
But it is Friday the 13th and perhaps it's time to think some entirely new thoughts.
The Universe is looking out for me. I just need to keep listening.
A neighbor found a kitten in her woodpile, another neighbor thought it might be my cat and got me. Of course it was not mine, but I got to find out what one does here when one finds a cat. AND I got to meet a neighbor who is MY AGE! Nancy, who found the cat is awesome and 55. She and I hit it off. She like me finds animals and helps them to find new owners.
I took the cat to my sis's animal clinic and they checked it out, fed it, gave it shots and tests and have it under observation for the weekend. On monday I'll "drop in" and see if I want this new little girl cat or if I feel she should go to another family. (likely)
There, I snagged Beanie, Barb's dog for a playday with Nym. Beanie and Nym played ALL day and into the night.
My sis and Mark came to dinner and I finally got to cook for them. Mexican was the theme including intense margarita's. We all plan on going for a motorcycle ride tomorrow!
I found the "STATE" store and stocked up on liquor. :-)
It's all good. It really is.
